Enjoy your holidays in wonderful South Italy: Cilento National Park.

Ottati

The municipality of Ottati is in the Cilento, Vallo di Diano and Alburni Mountains National Park, at the foot of the Alburni Massif, 530 m above sea level. On the North side a cliff protects it from rigours of winter; this cliff is full the caves once inhabited by Basilian monks, afterwards used as shelters for herds and shepherds; the cave Santa Croce, today completely abandoned, is the most famous.

The originality of the village is given definitely by eighty murals made by artists from different regions of Italy. Among alleys and squares, Ottati is as an open-air art gallery, where the grey stone houses are suddenly warmed up by bright color spots.

To visit:
Church of San Biagio (Saint Blaise): its exquisite Portal by Francesco da Sicignano dates 1480. After crossing Umberto I Square you will see the Dominican Monastery with the Church of the Annunciation of 1496. The magnificent Renaissance Cloister, characterized by a double row of arches, is also very interesting.
