Valle delle orchidee

Valley of orchids
It is a unique naturalistic itinerary in Campania and Cilento and Vallo di Diano National Park, a must destination for all people interested in nature and wild orchids.

Valle delle orchidee is located in the District of Monte Cervati (Naturalistic core of the Cilento and Vallo di Diano and Alburni National Park) in the municipality of Sassano.

It stretches over an area of 47 along a circular path where you can observe various species of wild orchid, interesting from a scientific point of view, in fact there are 184 different wild orchids (68 species, 57 subspecies, 35 varieties and 24 hybrids) in a territory particularly rich and with wonderful landscapes, besides a birch forest (the representative shrub of Central-Southern Apennines). An immense natural heritage, therefore, especially when you consider that in the protected area of the Cilento National Park (181,000 acres) there are 284 of the 319 species of wild orchids known throughout Europe and in the Mediterranean basin.
