In the summer of 2013 "Cala Bianca" was elected "the most beautiful beach in Italy."
This is not a place for mass tourism; but it is a slice of uncontaminated nature that should be preserved.
You can reach the beach by sea in just a few minutes starting from Camerota’s port by sightseeing boats, but the real trail goes through a path from località "monte di Luna” in Marina di Camerota. We recommend you not to join this trail when whether is too hot.
"Cala Bianca" is a beach of approximately 70 x 30 m. It owes the name to its white pebbles. It is located at the end of Bay of Pozzallo, which takes the name from the Pozzallo Grotto, and from the adjacent beach. Between the two beaches there is St. Catherine spring: a fresh water spring which seems to contain healthful virtues.
Opposite to the beach is the promontory which closes the Bay, on which stands the Niballo Tower (or tower of Cala Bianca). Going on for about 35 minutes you will arrive at Baia degli Infreschi (in depth Trekking trail "Cala Bianca").
