FROM CIOLANDREA TO THE MARCELLINO BEACH
This itinerary allows you to visit one of the most interesting coastal spots of the Tyrrhenian sea, i.e. the Masseta Coast.
Time. 3 hours
Level: Moderate
Total elevation : 519 m
The journey starts in località Ciolandrea (519 m above sea level) in San Giovanni a Piro (in depth).
From the panoramic viewpoint you can see the Calabria and Basilicata coasts. The slope begins walking along a slightly incline track surrounded by the Mediterranean scrub. During the trip you will look at a beautiful sea panorama.
Towards the end the slope becomes harder and the paths are barely visible, so we suggest you to be careful. From the hillocks you can see the remains of ancient guard towers and, downhill, the wonderful beaches of the Masseta Coast. Once you arrive at Marcellino beach you will be fascinated by the peaks of Marcellino gully and its holm oak forest.
Return trip by boat to Scario’s port or to Marina di Camerota’s port.
