On the Mount Calpazio, half-hidden among rocks and vegetation there are the castle’s ruins. Self-guided hiking.
From Capaccio Scalo reach by car Madonna del Granato Shrine -towards Capaccio. Driving on Via Crispi, 1 km beyond the Shrine you arrive at a watering trough : the trail to the castle starts right there, as the signpost shows.
To walk up to the castle is a journey into the history of Cilento that takes you back to the Conspiracy of the Barons days, tragically ended in 1246.
As you reach the top, a breath-taking view opens: it looks like a theatre where Man and Nature act side by side.
