San Severino di Centola is a ghost village, a medieval village abandoned in the last century, today under preservation and tourist promotion program promoted by an association, "Il Borgo", established by local citizens.
The charm of the village’s ruins is incomparable. The ancient settlement, located on a hill overlooking the Valley of the Mingardo is divided into two sides: the area of Castle and Church, and the residential area. During summer there are several events organized by the Association and aimed for the promotion of the site.
Don’t miss the renowned Ham Festival, which takes place on August in the square of the Church of Santa Maria degli Angeli in San Severino di Centola, and, during Christmas holidays, the living Nativity.
