As a result of restoration works by Comitato di Frazione of Pioppi (an hamlet of Pollica) carried out by the Group of volunteers of Legambiente, today is available a nature trail that leads from the Living Sea Museum in Pioppi (MuSea, in depht) to Pozzo dell’uva nera (The black grapes hole).
The name derives from the presence of a variety of black grapes just near the waterfall. Also known as the "Devil's Hole": the name was used in order to scare and keep children away from it, due to its depth. It is 2 km from Pioppi, near the old water mill.
It is a natural waterfall that flows in a deep Karst Valley, once used for the processing of linen. The trail has been recently restored for tourists.
Tour information at the Pro-Loco, the Museum of the Sea or the Village Committee.
The path that leads to Pozzo dell’uva nera starts at MuSea and goes along the path of the route 712 (Pioppi – Dominella/Marina di Casalvelino) up to Lesche crossroad; then it continues along the path of 712/a (Lesche-711 crossroad-TPC località Pennino-Celso Cilento) until the detour to Pozzo dell’uva nera.
